Arsenal, Newcastle United considering €30 million bids to sign Leroy Sane
Arsenal and Newcastle United are considering making a €30 million bid to sign Bayern Munich attacker Leroy Sane.
According to a report from CaughtOffside, Arsenal and Newcastle United are interested in the services of Leroy Sane. Both English clubs want to further bolster their attack and with the German winger’s contract at Bayern Munich running out, they are looking to make the most out of it.
Sane made a name for himself at Manchester City before making the move to Bayern in the summer of 2020. He has been one of the mainstays of the German club over the years and has played a big part in all the success they have had.
While he still remains a key part of their first team, the 28-year-old forward’s future is uncertain with his contract running out in 10 months. Bayern are keen on extending Sane’s stay at the club. They are willing to offer him a new deal but on lower wages which is making things complicated.
Arsenal and Newcastle are keen on signing Leroy Sane
Sane is open to staying at the German club but he might not accept a renewal offer with lower terms. Multiple clubs are aware of his situation and Arsenal and Newcastle are two clubs who could look to make the most out of it.
Both Premier League outfits are considering bringing him back to the Premier League as they look for more firepower in attack. Eddie Howe is a big admirer of the German international. Having parted ways with Elliot Anderson and Yankuba Minteh, they do need more options up top and Sane could be an exceptional signing for them.
While Mikel Arteta’s team added Raheem Sterling to their squad on the transfer deadline day, the Chelsea winger has joined them on loan and is considered to be a short-term fix. If they decided against signing him on a permanent basis, the Gunners could push for the services of Sane.
They wanted to sign him in the summer but ended up going for a low-cost option in Sterling. But, with the German winger potentially available for free next summer, Arsenal are quite interested in him.
While Bayern are facing the prospect of losing him for nothing, they are willing to sanction his departure for around €40-50 million in the winter. But, both English clubs consider the asking price to be on the higher side and they are looking to test the German club’s resolve with a €30 million offer.
